The Firefly

During the Napoleonic Wars Nina Maria Azara (Jeanette MacDonald) was a singing spy from Spain. She had a mission to seduce French officers and trick them into revealing Napoleon’s plans against Spain. Before taking her assignment in Bayonne, France she meets Don Diego (Allan Jones) in a San Diego club where she is performing. Don Diego however turns out to be Captain Andre who is sent to spy on her. Nina falls in love with Don Diego and then finds out what he is there for. Nina manages to escape her potential captors in France and return home to into hiding. Can she stay in hiding and evade her captors once Napoleon invades Spain? Will she ever meet up with her lover Don Diego again?
