When a brutalized corpse of a drug dealer with connections turn up, the homicide department assume that it Is the beginning of a drug war. Things escalate and Thomas Schaeffer decides to go undercover to uncover the truth.

Katrine decides to go ahead and date the married guy pursuing her because 1) He assures her he's split from his wife; and 2) He makes her happy. Meanwhile, Thomas's divorce proceeds while the serial killer continues to terrorize the city.

Katrine invites her married boyfriend to the Department's birthday party for Mia (the M.E.). Thomas takes an instant dislike to him and warns Katrine; she pays no mind. His (Thomas's) divorce goes through, but there's a surprise ending in store.
