Steel is setting up his new Steelworks in Metropolis when the David Connor Eradicator loses control and attacks Stryker's Island. Steel's tech is used to help in the response, and it works extremely well. Steel goes to work containing the Eradicator, but Superman intervenes, taking the battle on himself, leaving Steel wondering what his current role is in this world.
