Four women meet up in prison and form a band. Emma (Katja Riemann) is the drummer that compliments the music of Marie (Jutta Hoffmann), Angel (Nicolette Krebitz), and Luna (Jasmin Tabatabai). The all-girl convict band calls themselves The Bandits. They are good enough to be booked as the evening's entertainment at the local Policeman's Ball to show how rehabilitative prison life can be. However, while they are being taken to their first real gig outside the prison walls, their guard begins to make sexual advances. In order to do with them what he wants, he unlocks their shackles and the women make a run for freedom. In order to make sure the girls won't get to form their band in outside of prison, some demo tapes are handed over to the media. But instead of making it easier for them to be caught, their songs become a hit on the radio. The fans adore them and police chase them as their rebellion makes them more and more famous. But how long can their luck run before they are captured? It doesn't seem to matter to these four girls who are having the time of their lives.
