After a personal dramatic incident, profiler Sebastian Bergman has withdrawn from police investigations. When he returns to his own city for personal matters, he becomes involved in an investigation. A 16-year-old boy is missing. Swedish police believe he just ran away. When he is found dead with an excised heart, Profiler Bergman is determined to solve the case.

Profiler Bergman has not yet got his life on track, but has received a reason to live. When the police get stuck in an investigation with 3 murdered women, Bergman is called in to help. If it turns out that it has to do with a 15-year-old Bergman case, which becomes very personal. They have to do everything they can to find the murderer.
