Genealogical and heraldic history of the Privy Council & Order of Precedence
Since its inception in 1826, Burke's Peerage, Baronetage and Knightage has been rightly regarded as the definitive reference book on the British aristocracy. While adhering to its established format in listing the details of some 120,000 living people, the 107th edition has been further updated andexpanded to include Knights, Scottish and Irish Chiefs and Scottish Feudal Barons. The index of living people, introduced in the 106th edition, has been updated; there are essays on the histories of major families and titles; and there is coverage of the British Association of the Sovereign MilitaryOrder of Malta.
