Originally known as Mezzo Punto, Tape lace is made of tape, either ready- or home-made and needlelace stitches, although there are some bobbin or crochet elements to the craft. The lace itself has been developed in many different countries, and tends to be quicker than the traditional form of lacemaking. This book is a detailed guide which explains the various origins of tape lace and covers all the techniques in turn. Also included is an illustrated dictionary of over 100 stitch variations.
