This is a reprint of the beginner book based on a series of cards that Brooks had created with her designs to teach bobbin lace, in the 1940s. There are some very nice and basic edgings and insertions and her hand-drawn diagrams in black and white. The cards for each pattern have precise step-by-steps such as "twist twice Prs. 4 & 5 and cross" and "Insert pin at P. 2, T & C". This accompanies a numbered diagram.
