Robotech
Robotech is the critically acclaimed animated series about mankind's first contact with warring alien races, and the use of alien technology to defend Earth. The series was broken into three chapters, The Macross Saga, The Robotech Masters, and The New Generation. Released in 1985, Robotech was the first anime (Japanese animation) series that many fans had seen, and is often accredited as the cause of the anime fandom that continues to grow today in the United States.
The Earth is invaded by a race of aliens calling themselves the Invid. They have come to the Earth to cultivate its vast supplies of Protoculture, a multipurpose energy source and foodstuff, which is of prime importance to their race. Without Protoculture, the Invid Colony could wither and die. With enough, their race could grow and become the most powerful in the universe. Their invasion and conquest of the Earth is swift and complete. A huge interstellar fleet is sent to Earth by Admiral Rick Hunter to appraise the situation and test the strengths of this new alien threat. The test ends in failure, as the Invid meets the challenge of these new Robotech Defenders with swift and conclusive action! Few of these defenders survive the Invid attack. One survivor, Scott Bernard, decides that, even if it means his own destruction, he must carry out his orders to find and destroy the Invid's main base, a complex hive known as Reflex Point. Luckily, Scott finds that he is not alone!
Scott Bernard, the sole survivor of the Robotech Expeditionary Force's ill-conceived attack against the Invid stronghold known as Reflex Point, joins forces with Rand, a young rebellious freedom fighter.

Lunk makes a slight detour to keep a promise made to a dying friend. He is not prepared for the reception he gets. He ends up fighting for his life, for the freedom of his friends, and the return of their stolen Robotech mecha.
Scott Bernard and his band of comrades come upon a force of Robotech Defense Forces under the command of one of his childhood heroes, Col. Wolfe. When Scott offers the services of his group to aid in Wolfe's plans to defeat the Invid,
Scott, Rand, and Annie plummet into a Genesis Pit, an underground prehistoric world where dinosaurs rule and the threat of death is ever present.
The Invid send a "simul-agent" into the midst of Scott Bernard and friends in order to find out how much this band of freedom fighters knows about them and their plans. The Invid plan backfires when Rand discovers the Simul-agent.
The intrepid band of freedom fighters come upon a thriving community which makes its living by selling information to avoid the Invid and migrate to a new and wonderful Utopia just over the mountain.
Before pressing on to Reflex Point, Scott Bernard and his ragtag band of Robotech Defenders must first destroy an old Robotech Masters Fortress that is now occupied by the Invid. The group separates and infiltrates the mountain stronghold.
Rand tries to find water for Marlene who has grown ill following the destruction of the Invid Fortress. He braves a sandstorm that circulates many of the spores of the Invid Flower of Life that overwhelm Rand.
While traveling through a forest of mature trees that were once active Invid Flowers of Life, Scott Bernard's group is captured by a tribe of outcasts. They have canonized the Invid as their sacred protectors.
Following Annie's departure from the group, a sense of melancholy settles over Scott and his friends. Petty arguments get blown-out of proportion and the group decides to split up.
The Regess, Queen of the Invid, transforms two of her protoplasmic children into humans as part of the process of finding the ultimate life form. Corg and Sera are assigned to hunt down the simulagent Marlene and the Robotech Defenders.
On a snow-capped mountain pass, Scott Bernard and company defend themselves against a massive attack by the Invid, led by Sera, who is torn between her loyalty to the Regiss and her uncontrollable emotional instability.
The group finds themselves in a high desert ghost town populated by an assemblage of old timers who have Robotechnology. The return of the newest attack wing of the Robotech Defense Forces sends a call to glory into the lives of many.
The freedom fighters take a detour from their journey to Reflex Point, to explore a city preserved under a canopy of ice and snow. It's a time to replenish their food supplies, and morale, after suffering so much at the hands of the Invid
A surprise birthday party for Annie turns into a nightmare as Corg sets up an ambush for the freedom fighters. But the group is well prepared and defends their position without spoiling Annie's party.

The Robotech Defense Force plans its major attack on Reflex Point. Scott, Lancer and Lunk return to the military. Annie, Rand and Rook are told to stay away. They don't obey and blast their way into a final confrontation with Regiss.
The final chapter in the third Robotech war has Scott defending Corg with the aid of Marlene while Lancer aids Sera in defending the Invid Hive while the Regiss gathers her remaining Invid children.
