"The Planet of Doomed Men" - The Guardians of the Universe have learned that Abin Sur passed his ring on to a successor. They wish to know more about Hal Jordan, but are not yet ready to reveal themselves. Instead, they summon an energy duplicate, and hold an interview with him, convincing themselves that Hal is up to the task he is about to be given.
"The Menace of the Giant Puppet!" - Several crimes have been performed lately, often by criminals changing their usual M.O. It is soon clear that they are being controlled like puppets from a distance. Hal Jordan sets himself up as a likely target to draw the Puppet Master out into the open.

The offered item is an attractive restored example of the first issue of the Silver Age Green Lantern's title run with a strong, upper mid-grade appearance. The Green Lantern was one of the first heroes to get redesigned for a new generation of readers in Showcase #22 and his success soon lead to his own long-running series. The origin of the Silver-Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, is retold here and the Guardians of the Universe, the guiding force behind the Green Lantern Corps, make their first appearance in this premiere issue. The Overstreet Price Guide lists this item in unrestored 7.5 for $2610.
