Notes

Mad #1 (EC, 1952) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Cream to off-white pages. This seminal satire issue started the ball rolling for scores of imitators, and could even be considered the first underground comic ever produced. Almost every underground artist of the 1960s cited this title as their main influence. Harvey Kurtzman put an indelible stamp on the hobby with this influential funnybook. Easily one of the most significant comics ever produced, no comic collection is complete without a copy of this one. Art by Wally Wood, Bill Elder and Jack Davis. Overstreet 2002 GD 2.0 value = $520; FN 6.0 value = $1,560.
