Weird Fantasy #18 Al Williamson File Copy (EC, 1953) CGC VG/FN 5.0 Light tan to off-white pages. Al Williamson teamed up with several other artists during his stellar EC days, sometimes as the penciler, sometimes as the inker, and sometimes doing both. The result was always stunning. Here he created the cover with inking help from Al Feldstein, and contributed story art with inking by Roy Krenkel. Jack Kamen, Joe Orlando, and the team of John Severin and Bill Elder also penciled interior stories for this issue. Overstreet 2004 VG 4.0 value = $62; FN 6.0 value = $93. Comes with an attractive certificate of authenticity for The Al Williamson Collection, signed by Al himself.
Williamson, Al :Al Williamson (American b.1931): Among Al Williamson's most notable works are his science-fiction/heroic fantasy pieces at EC in the fifties, his Flash Gordon comic books for King Comics in the sixties, his long-running comic strip Secret Agent Corrigan in the sixties and seventies, and his Star Wars film adaptations and newspaper strip in the eighties, all of which continued the fine illustrative tradition begun by his artistic idol, Alex Raymond .
