Plot

Maddy Hernandez declared she would never return home, and yet, now with just a few dollars to her name and with her son Nicholas, she is humbled to be coming back to her father's care and shelter. His life has changed since his wife's death and Maddy feels alone in her search for a new life. Forced to destroy the cattle they raised as livestock, she makes one final effort to save her life and the farm. In choosing to raise coffee, she finds an unforeseen ally and begins to feel a break in the hardened barrier around her heart. Wounded and haunted by memories of an abusive ex-husband, Maddy must decide to live a life alone or let down her guard in faith and trust.
