The Justice League's reputation is in ruins, thanks to their own plan to thwart villainous usurpers. They learn the Injustice Society assembled Agamemno's weapon from the Oan Power Battery on Oa, the Rann Absorbascon (which transfers knowledge), and a Kryptonian gem. The villains used this first to eliminate Agamemno! And now, they know everything about the heroes, including where they are. The heroes stash their friends and relatives in Gorilla City, but the villains aren't after them, not yet. The villains work to solidify their control over the world, and the heroes can't stop them becuase the villains know too much about them, and because the police are working against the real heroes. Martian Manhunter devises a secret plan while the heroes visit a museum Luthor bought some time ago. It is the location of the weapon - and the villains, who were expecting the ploy! The heroes struggle until the Manhunter returns with the HERO dial. Each Justice League member becomes a new hero; the villains can't use their superior knowledge because these heroes did not exist! That's when Agamemno appears. He was only biding his time, waiting for half his enemies to fall. Now, he's handling the League without much effort, until a battalion of Hawkmen and most of the Green Lantern Corps appear! When Adam Strange revealed where the Zeta Beam would next strike, Deadman "rode" Kid Flash to that site, and then rode the beam to where the Society had imprisoned the Green Lanterns. Using his ability to possess bodies, he freed them, and they collected the Hawkmen! Soon enough Agamemno is imprisoned in the Battery; the Guardians on Oa will deal with him more permanently. And Luthor? In order to maintain his reputation as an honest businessman he will have to claim he was manipulated - and therefore he will have to reverse the damage done to the League's reputation.
