Rob Roy (Liam Neeson) is the leader of the MacGregor Clan. Facing a tough winter, he tries to secure the future of his Clan by borrowing money from the Marquis of Montrose (John Hurt). His plan for the money was to purchase cattle, and herd it to the market. Instead, the money gets stolen. This forces Rob Roy to live a Robin Hood like life, and fight for his survival. Honour and Bravery will only get him that far, and soon only love can fuel his cause.
