Rare Breed

When the English Hereford cattle are introduced to the American cattle scene, no one has any belief in their ability to be productive. That is until Martha Price (Maureen O’Hara), a widow from England works hard to change the mind of Alexander Bowen (Brian Keith). Bowen owns a ranch and has agreed to take one of the rare bulls. He hires Sam Burnett (James Stewart) to drive the cow to Texas where Bowen has arranged to have it breed with a longhorn. Burnett agrees to go but not without several extra companions. Martha and her daughter Hilary will not be left behind. But what business do two proper Englishwomen have on one of the Wild West’s cattle trails?
