This is a documentary that takes a look at the threat of volcanic activity along the Pacific Rim. The science behind earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other seismic events is examined. News footage is shown throughout the documentary and includes the eruption of Mt. St. Helens and the San Francisco earthquake in the late 1980’s. It also covers the discovery of Chilean volcano and shows the residential area in Japan where an active volcano is an everyday threat to the residents there. This film was originally created for an IMAX screen and contains never seen before footage of the activity in the Pacific Rim.
