My Friend Flicka

Ken McLaughlin (Roddy McDowall) is the son of a Colorado rancher who always seems to be getting himself into trouble, and therefore out of his father's graces. In an attempt to help Ken to learn some responsibility, his parents give him a horse, Flicka. It seems that their plan is not working - Ken has a very tough time with Flicka, who has a strong wild streak and a need to resist any efforts of domestication. After some time, patience, and love, however, Ken is able to make a connection with Flicka, and they quickly become a strong team together. When Flicka gets sick, Ken is forced to risk a lot in order to help her get better. Will he be able to nurse her back to health, and will his new bond with Flicka help Ken to be treated better by his parents?
