Detective Pierre Niemans (Jean Reno) is sent to a small town in the French Alps to investigate the brutal murder of a senior student of the local university. Meanwhile, Detective Max Kerkerian (Vincent Cassel) investigates the desecration of the grave of a girl in the nearby town of Sarzac.
