Mary Cep (Lindsey Lohan) is better known at school as Lola, a name that better matches her dramatic personality. She is on top of the world as the most popular girl at school and loves her life in New York City. But her family must move to Dellwood, New Jersey and Lola’s life falls apart. At school she must contend with teachers who insist on calling her Mary and with Carla Santini (Megan Fox) who is not only the most popular girl but also the meanest. At home no one understands her. Lola befriends unpopular and unadventurous Ella Gerard (Alison Pill) because the two of them both love the rock band Sidarthur. Ella helps Lola in her attempt to snag the lead role as Eliza in the school production of “Pygmalion” as well as in her battle to displace Carla. When Lola doesn’t get the tickets to the last concert of her beloved band, she and Ella conspire to get into the concert anyway. The girls don’t get into the concert but they do get into trouble while helping the band’s lead singer Stu Wolf (Adam Garcia).
