Witse
After his wife cheats on him with his superior, police commissioner Witse leaves Brussels for Halle to start a new life. His idiosyncratic character and ways of solving cases often clashes with his new colleagues.
An eight-year-old boy has gone missing. Witse and his team work together with the Missing Persons department to find him. The fact that a convicted paedophile has recently moved to the area does suspect the worst.
The body of a young woman is found in a freight train. It turns out she had been drugged and raped. During their investigation Witse and Sam discover that more girls were victim of the rapists. Can the perpetrators be found in the allochthonous youth gang who make the district around the station unsafe? Or is there something else?
Top lawyer Joris Camerlynck is found dead in a little farm which he was renovating. Camerlynck had a lot of enemies and his marriage wasn't very good either. Soon someone comes forward and claims he's the killer: it's Fons, who Camerlynck just got free on the charge of murdering Fons's wife. Fons's confession seems to fit: he's just acting strange about the location of the weapon. Witse thinks he lies and tries hard to find the true killer. Who does Fons protect?
In a family brewery the body of the youngest brother is found dead in one of the beer cauldrons. At the same time a young woman gets shot on a car park of a night club. Witse has to investigate both cases, but then certain things turn up on which it seems that both cases might be related...
Arnold Verbeeck, chief dispatcher of a transport company, dies in a traffic accident, which seems not to be accidental. Witse goes investigating at the firm, but finds no leads. Then there is a second victim: a middle-aged woman who has nothing to do with Verbeeck...until Witse discovers that her daughter worked under Verbeeck. She got a depression because of his tyrannical way of handling his employees.
The wealthy baroness Van Calster gets killed during a burglary, but strange enough there wasn't much stolen from her castle. The baroness had a much younger lover and didn't get along with her son Didier. Both men want her possessions and share a common interest in Sylvia, a model from Eastern Europe who wants to make it in the West. Witse discovers that the lover was the victim of a carjacking and that the burglar used this car and that the chauffeur of the baroness left the castle that night to sell wine from the cellar of the castle. The case gets even weirder when it appears that the stolen car was in a garage, which was rented by the baroness. Only when the testament is being read, for Witse the pieces come together.
On a morning at a school the dead body of the chemistry teacher Frank Alpaerts is found. Alpaerts was a very popular teacher, but also had a very busy love life. Amongst them the wife of the gym teacher Dierckx. But then it appears that Alpaerts had a special bond with a problem child from school and the ghost of paedophilia arises. Everything comes to an explosive outcome on which Witse won't be walking out undamaged.
Witse is still in hospital when Van Deun leads the investigation on a murder on an elderly man. However Sam keeps reporting to Witse and from his sickbed he keeps himself busy with the case. This annoys Van Deun greatly. The old man and his neighbours couldn't stand each other and he also had a bad relationship with his son and grandson. The latter is a drug addict and seems to have stolen the coin collection of his grandfather. But the solution of the mystery has to be found in a passionate direction...
Aziza Suleyman, a young Turkish woman, gets killed after she comes back from a meeting one night. She had a row with her Flemish boyfriend Jeroen. The brother of Aziza, Ismet, soon becomes a suspect when it appears that Aziza is pregnant from Jeroen. When Ismet flees, the accusation seems true. But to Witse it's too easy. When he digs in Jeroen's past, with his help, he discovers the tragic reason for the gruesome murder.
At a scouting camp the young Tatiana is found strangled. Tatiana was a handsome girl who had a relationship with the tough, aggressive Wout. She was beloved by the shy scout leader Ludo. When it comes out that Tatiana constantly bullied and humiliated him, Ludo becomes a clear suspect. But also her mother, an alcoholic woman with a turbulent love life, is being considered a suspect. When Ludo flees, and later gets killed by Wout, who says Ludo confessed that he strangled Tatiana, the case seems solved. But details on photo's, made by scout leader Bernadette, bring Witse on the right track of the killer.
A woman falls from the window of her villa. The ex-husband becomes a suspect, but then an anonymous phone call directs the investigation towards a Spanish pimp. He tries to obtain a power base in Halle. When a prostitute gets killed at home and the first victim also seemed to be in the same business, the investigation takes a total different direction.
The body of a young woman is found in the forest near Halle. Almost at the same time they discover that in the same night the former boss of Van Deun got killed. Witse and his team sink their teeth in both cases, but Van Deun starts to act strangely. Is he somehow involved in the case?
Witse and his team persistently continue with their investigation. Everything seems to be connected with a more than twenty-year-old murder, at which the mother of the murdered girl got killed. Dams searches for the only witness, but the opponent is also on the lookout.
