FOREWORD
The fourth revised edition of this catalogue bears little resemblance to the original produced in 1975. The number of entries has been steadily expanded year by year, building up to this bumper 1979 issue of 112 pages covering more than 3,600 items.
It is the most comprehensive catalogue ever published on Trade Cards, and the special feature of this year's edition is the extremely comprehensive section on the Liebig cards issued before 1950.
It is, of course, impossible to include all the series issued world wide over such a long period, but nonetheless I feel that most collectors will find this volume will be a great help to them in the enjoyment of their hobby.
Availability of cards at the time of going to press is indicated by a price being quoted under the "odds" and/or "sets" column, but stocks are constantly changing and the lack of a price does not necessarily mean that the item is permanently unavailable. Similarly, even if an item is not listed at all, we still may be able to supply it, so please do not hesitate to write to us asking for a quotation.
New issues are being produced all the time, and we hope there will be many extra items in the next edition ! Meanwhile, new issues, details of previously unrecorded cards, etc., are reported each month in the "Cigarette Card News and Trade Card Chronicle" (see page vii for details), but you can help us greatly by sending information on any new items which you come across.
