The story begins with my conversion experience and my experiences with God as a young, zealous Christian. It describes my struggles as a Christian man in the military stationed in the Republic of Turkey. Since Christianity was illegal in Turkey, it was there I learned the pain of physical persecution for the sake of my faith in Christ. After being struck down with an incurable disease early in life, and forced to accept a medical retirement from the Air Force, I took the pastorate of a small, inner-city church in Syracuse, NY. From the Author According to His Purpose is a true story about success and failure, pain and suffering, hope and despair and how God can use good and bad to break a man, in order to build him into a useful instrument. According to His Purpose provides insight into understanding why even God's people are permitted to suffer with sickness, disease and disabilities. This book will minister to people in the military, people who suffer with disabilities and anyone who has ever asked the question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
