Plot

With only a few months to go before he marries the sophisticated and beautiful Celeste Morton, John leaves his home in Chippewa City, Minnesota, to travel to the mining town of Goldstrike in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The reason for the trip? The murder of his father, Harlan Wells. Helping him unravel his father's past is the plain but inwardly beautiful Jewell Emerson, owner of the boardinghouse where Harlan spent his last years.
