essays in honor of Robert G. Bratcher
The essays in this volume are in honor of Bob Bratcher, referred to as a significant 20th century Bible translator. The contributors themselves all have extensive experience of Bible translation. Their essays are divided into three sections - exegesis, culture, and theology - each related to translation and each representing an area in which Bob Bratcher has published books and articles. Dr. Bratcher was responsible for a lifetime of work with the American Bible Society in which he translated “The Good News for Modern Man: The New Testament in Today’s English Version” in the mid-1960s and later the Old Testament into The Good News Bible in 1971.
