an international symposium on the Lausanne covenant
In this symposium, the Lausanne, Covenant is not so mucha text for exposition as a basis for further theological constructions, a springboard for fresh innovative thought. Some of the big issues of the Congress -- culture, church, mission, social responsibility, dialogue and presence, moratorium, leadership, worldliness -- are taken up here and developed. The fact that ten of the fifteen contributors are Third World citizens or residents introduces a freshness of perspective and a pungency of comment to which the rest of us (especially from Europe and North America) need to pay close and humble attention. Contributors include: Carl F. H. Henry, John R. W. Stott, Saphir Philip Athyal, Michael Cassidy, Athol Gill, Peter Savage, Howard A. Snyder, Orlando E. Costas, John Gatu, Jacob A. Loewen, Jonathan Chao, C. Rene Padilla, A. N. Observer, Michael Griffiths, Samel Escobar. --
