This exposition deserves particular attention since it is concerned with the first chapter of the Epistle to the Ephesians. Lloyd-Jones asserts that the teaching of Ephesians can be understood only in the light of the great doctrine which the apostle lays down in the first chapter. It is in Ephesians 1 that God's glorious plan and destiny for the Christian church is set forth. In one sense the first chapter of Ephesians is basic to all New Testament studies.
