Another boring day, cleaning up other people’s messes, janitor Morris Codman (Jonathan Penner) doesn’t know what is in store for him when he turns on the television set. Low and behold, it is God Almighty (George Plimpton) speaking to him. Shocked beyond belief, Morris pays close attention to the message God is giving him. God has chosen him to start a new religion. Now, this is not your average religion that Morris has been told to begin; it is a religion based upon greed. So, armed with a message from God, Morris sets out to fulfill his mission. Imagine his shock when he runs afoul of the law. It’s a good thing that he has public defender Debby (Sandra Bullock) to go to bat for him. But, was the message really, truly from God?
