In Western naturopathy and modern clinical ecology the large intestine is accorded preeminent importance. In modern TCM, however, the large intestine's role is relatively secondary. In this book, Dr. Flaws reviews the classical Chinese theory regarding the large intestine which does support a pivotal role in the immune response. he then describes clinical instances where such classical theory has led him to incorporate Western naturopathic and environmental medical treatments in his TCM protocols.
