Plot

We often hear about Jesus twelve male disciples. But what about his female followers? Why do most portrayals of the Last Supper show only men? Where were the women? They were with Jesus just before and just after the Last Supper. Where were they during the supper? In fact, ancient artworks reflect their presence. We usually think, however, only of Leonardo da Vincis famous mural, which is on the wall of a monastery dining hall in Milan. No wonder he showed only men.The nine memoirs in this book reflect on the experiences of the women disciples of Jesus. Each of the women portrayed in this book was an ordinary person transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. Each of us, too, can experience this transformation. The memoirs reflect a lifetime of reading, research and reflection. They are historical fiction, based on historical information supplemented with historically plausible details where necessary for the narrative. They have been performed as monologs for churches, libraries, and clubs bringing affirmation and blessing to affirming both women and men followers of Christ today, as well as stirring community interest.Perhaps you and your church would also like to use them for Easter pageants, as discussion texts for Sunday School classes or small groups or book clubs, or for personal meditation.
