Doctor Strange, Vol. 2

Doctor Strange plunges into the Quadriverse in search of Xander's masters, the Creators! There he encounters a strange female guardian who contains another universe, within which she resides. Demons, cosmic storms and finally a planet where he encounters the guardian again! He determines to help her, but an odd knight interferes to prevent Strange from helping her, and thereby interfering with her "duty". Strange nearly falls victim to a world made of worms, but burns it away with the Flames of the Faltine. He used a lethal attack when a defensive spell would have served as well - is the Quadriverse affecting his mind? The knight returns, Strange defeats him and discovers he has been fighting empty armor! The planet's roots then seize the girl, and following, Strange discovers a subterranean world. Finally freeing her, Strange reaches the center of the Quadriverse and meets other former Guardians on a sanctuary. But he cannot replace the girl, for he must reach the Creators! En route, Strange sees a child, a new Guardian, who has replaced the girl. He realizes he cannot break this cycle, which will persist in suffering until time itself ends...
