Relates the way in which Saul Bembelman began baking bread.
I read this book to my kids in the late 70's and am now reading it to my grandkids who love it....I always get hungry after reading it...that bread sounds so good! The illustrations are perfect as well.
The illustrations in this story are what make it so memorable. The simple line pictures help to make the text of the story tangible. Even after thirty years, I instantly recognized the cover of this book as one of my favorites as a child.
Ms. Green passes on a playful "immigrant's" story that I hope your children will cherish as much as I did.
