This volume is intended to provide a user-friendly synopsis of the ideas, concepts, values, and religious obligations (mitzvot) in each of the Torah portions throughout the year, including the special readings for Jewish holy days. In addition, there is a synopsis of the accompanying Haftarot (prophetic portions) to each of the Torah portions. The aim of the book is to present the Torah portions as a guide to Jewish living and as a timely stimulus for positive thought in terms of the challenges of contemporary life.
