Wars are generally fought for borders, for land, for political power, ideology or natural resources.
The Arab war against Israel is different- it is a war of extermination. It's aim is to destroy Israel, and to expell or anihilate all of her Jews.
Written in 1977, this book by Alvin Rosenfeld lays bare both the hate and the sinister and ingenious connivance of the Arab world to isolate and then completely destroy the State of Israel.
The author lays down the bottom line and reminds us that
there are 340 million Arabs (at the time of writing the author cites the figures of 150 million), massed against five million souls (by the author's 1977 figures then, 3 million).
The 340 milllion are determined to ensure that the 5 million perish.
Elementary decency would demand that we try to ensure that both the 340 million and the 5 million survive, but in order to do this we need to examine the words and deeds of those Arabs determined to see the elimination of Israel's five million Jews.
The author covers the vote by the UN General Assembly on November 10, 1975, to equate Zionism with 'racism', 27 years after the UN voted to allow the re-establishment of the Jewish State on a small section of the Levant.The resolution was pushed by the Arab and Communist Blocs, and many votes of Third World countries were bought off by Arab oil.
Three days after the vote the PLO planted a bomb in Zion Square in Jerusalem, killing seven teenagers and wounding and maiming scores of other Jews.
This is an example of how moral denigration encourages physical elimination. Although Arab terrorists were shooting, bombing , bludgeoning and knifing Israeli women and children, long before the international Left decided to label Israel as 'racists' and now as 'Nazis'.
But this certainly pours fuel onto the fire of hatred of the Israeli people, and causes countless deaths.
Not only do the rabid anti-Zionists who boycott and demonize Israel display gross and racist anti-Semitism , but they also responsible to a large extent for terror against Israeli women and children.

It is entirely in keeping in the character of Islamists or rabidly leftist anti-Zionists that they should carry a rabid hatred of Israel to the point of defending the killers of Israeli children.
The same way, that the demonization of Jews by Hitler Goebbels and Der Sterner laid the way for the holocaust, I believe that the purpose of anti-Zionist propaganda is to pave the way for the genocide of Israel Jews.
The author pulls no punches in quoting the Arab leaders and their outright calls fo mass murder and genocide.
He also clearly details some of the atrocities carried out by the Arabs, such as the torture and cold-blooded murder of hundreds of captured Israeli soldiers by the Syrians during the Six Day War.
The author quotes Nasr Al-Din al-Nashashibi, scion of a prominent and wealthy Palestinian family, in 1962: "I shall see the hatred in the eyes of my sons. I shall see how they take revenge. If they do not know how to take revenge, I shall teach them. And if they agree to a truce or a peace, I shall fight against them as I fight against my enemy and theirs. I want them to be callous, to be ruthless, to take revenge. I want them to wash away the disaster of 1948 (When invading Arab armies failed to destroy the newborn State of Israel) with the blood of those who prevent them from entering the land. Their homeland is dear to them but revenge is dearer. We'll enter their lairs in Tel Aviv. We'll smash Tel Aviv with axes, guns, hands, fingernails and teeth".
The author carefully documents Arab anti-Semitic propaganda in the schools and by religious leaders, such as the words of an Islamic Imman that "I have thouroughly scrutinized the nature of the Jews...They are avaricious, cruel, hypocritical and revengeful...They never change...They always try to seize an opportunity to take revenge on Islam and Moslems".
The author documents the prevalence of Meim Kampf and the Protocols of the Elders of Zion (the latter that Libyan tyrant, Muammar Qadaffi kept on his desk and handed out to foreign dignitaries and journalists) in the Arab and Islamic world.

Anti-Semitism is included in army indoctrination and taught in grade schools. A few samples given include:
"The Jews in Europe were persecuted and despised because of their corruption, meanness and treachery" (Jordanian reader).
"By their nature they are vile, greedy and the enemies of mankind. (Syrian junior high school reader).
"You Jews shall never have a homeland-
You never had a homeland-
We will take over Palestine-
And bury you in it's soil."

The author details some of the terror before 1977 against Israeli men, women and children.
In July 1976, a bus filled with Israeli men, women and children was blown up near Tel Aviv and scores of Jews killed and injured. The Voice of Palestine proudly announced that explosives planted by our "Palestinian fighters" has destoyed a "Zionist bus" and killed or maimed "several Zionists".
The author details the Arab threats of genocide against Israel before the Six Day War, when Arab armies massed on Israel's borders promising anihilation, and forcing Israel to strike first in order to survive.
He also deals with the fraud of the so-called arab refugees, used as a weapon to destroy Israel, pointing out that 500 000 Arabs
left Palestine, mainly before the 1948 War of Independence, after being told by their leaders that they could return after the Jews had been eliminated. This was in contrast to 750 million Jews forced to leave the Arab countries where they lived, with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and were absorbed into Israel.
The author deals with the Arab use of the oil weapon, the use of boycotts and economic blackmail (now used so viciously against Israel by the international left), the growth of the anti-Israel propaganda machine, and the growth of the pro-Arab lobby in the USA, including the Americans for Middle East Understanding, financed by the major oil companies.
He also illustrates the role played by the Soviet Union in arming Arab belligerants and pushing them to war with Israel. Clearly the Soviet Union, like their ideological sucessors today throughout the world, are hell bent on the destruction of Israel.

Things have indeed got even worse and more frightening since this book was written, largely because of the hate campaign against Israel launched by the international left including news agencies, universities, "academics", trade unions and revolutionary regimes and far-left politicians.
The international left is pouring fuel on the fires of hate and death, and pushing us closer to genocide and world conflagration.
