Beginners:
I personally am a fan of beginning a language with textbooks and then taking a class. There are many different Yiddish textbooks.

I started myself with a book called “the Yiddish Teacher” by H.E.Goldin. Unfortunately it is a fairly rare book so you probably won’t find it at the local library. It is however the best book for teaching the alphabet and the first grammar lessons.
