Plot

This 600-plus page novel picks up where its precursor (The Settlers) left off, and is every bit as true to history and loaded with delightful characterizations. One feels, reading this epic sequel on the settlement and development of Israel in the period after WWI through World War II, that one knows the people, and the places. One lives their emotional tumult.

I seldom read novels, but picked up The Settlers last summer as a much-needed diversion, and found myself desperately wanting to know what happened to the characters with whom I fell in love.
