This book originally written adn published in Yiddish was translated into Hebrew and soon became a best-seller in Israel. From this epic, Sabras, born in the free and independet State of Israel havve come to know how generations of Jewish children, exposed to poverty and deprivation in Eastern Europe, never abandoned for one moment their hope of helping to redeem the Jewish soil in the land of Israel. It was Lieverman's last wish that it be translated into English so that its message of redemption might reach into the hearts of Jewish children in America.
