I was expecting much worse from a book with this title put out by JPS, but it wasn't too bad. It actually contained some good synthesis in laying out Trotsky's writing and action on the "Jewish Question," from his fight with the Bund, to comments on Biro-Bijan and the rise of Nazism. Politically, it's not too bad either, and pretty even-handed--though the author attempts to trace some of Trotsky's ideological positions to psychological factors from his childhood, and seems to argue that Trotsky actually ended up a Zionist in the last year of his life (but was too embarrassed to make it public).
