Plot

The story of German-Jewish family from the turn of the century to the last days of the Second World War, it sets the fortunes of a small group of individuals against the backdro of momentous historical events. The Missing Years describes the small town childhood of Richard Lasson, his trials in the First World War, his life as a student and subseuent carer as a physician reaching the top of his profession. But it is also a dramatic account of survival against all odss during the darkest period of recent European history, the evidence of a witness to the last days of German Jewry during the Holocaust and the downfall of Nazi tyranny.
