This handy pocket reference provides operating room personnel with general guidelines for setting up a mayo stand for a variety of surgical specialties. The 12 chapters are organized by surgical specialty. Each chapter includes a brief overview of that specialty, special considerations related to that specialty, an alphabetic list of the procedures, and a detailed guide to the instruments and equipment required to set up a mayo stand and/or back table for that procedure. Selected illustrations throughout the guide help users visualize the set-ups for the more complicated procedures. This pocket guide is appropriate for all OR personnel who will be working in a scrub role, such as a surgical technologist or surgical nurse or for students who are training to perform in these roles.
