Iron Man, Vol. 4

Stark confronts Jack Kooning about what's going on in Omaha, and confirms that the Mandarin has gotten access to Extremis. Before Stark can get to Omaha to confront him, Mandarin tells Maya that his plan is to force a stage of Darwinian evolution by unleashing Extremis on the world, wiping out the vast majority of the population, but leaving the survivors stronger. He doesn't expect to survive, although Maya does have the gene required to pull through. Stark breaks in on them, expecting S.H.I.E.L.D. support requested from Dum Dum Dugan which won't come, as Deputy Director Hill countermanded the order.
