Picking Bones

In no. 0, the author, Keet Geniza, presents a series of comic illustrations and text about questioning themself, time spent sailing with cousins in the Philippines, sharing a pop novel with their grandmother, a childhood haircut, and experiencing love. In no. 1, Keet uses poetry, comics, and illustrations to document their trip through New York and Manila and their thoughts on what it would have been like to grow up in the Philippines instead of Canada. They open with a dream log and provide instructions on how to play “Pusoy Dos,” a game the author played with their cousins on the trip.
