Quest for the Rings

Description

Taking advantage of the wild popularity of the classic fantasy roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons which, in 1981, was at its peak, Magnavox came out with their own unique fantasy-based video game, The Quest For The Rings. This game pretty much borrows from the sword and sorcery blueprint of D & D. This game is unique in that it's both a video game and a board game at the same time. The ultimate goal of the game is to find the ten Rings of Power while trying to stay alive. As either a sword-wielding warrior, a spell-casting wizard, a changeling that can briefly turn invisible, or a phantom that can walk through walls, you'll battle three dragons (Scortha, Goldfang, and Mythrog), the spydroth tyrantulus, doomwinged bloodthirsts, orcs, and firewraths. You'll walk through dungeons, shifting halls, infernoes, and crystal caverns. The game comes with a booklet that has a very detailed backstory that describes the legend of the rings, the terrain, the monsters you'll encounter, and the characters in search of the rings. This can be a somewhat complicated game when the board game is involved.
