The first baseball game for the Genesis, Tommy Lasorda Baseball features generic players and team logos. However, there is a team corresponding to each Major League Baseball city (24 in all). The teams have 25-man rosters, and you can choose your batting lineup and substitute players as needed. You can even bring in pinch runners and hitters. Play an exhibition game against a friend or an open game or 30-game season against the computer. A password feature lets you keep track of your season. Options allow three difficulty settings, the ability to turn off errors, help with fielding, and wind and sound variance. You can also select whether you would like the game to favor pitchers or batters. Pitchers in this game are ranked according to five categories, including ERA, stamina and throwing speed. Batter's attributes include batting average, number of home runs hit, catching ability, throwing speed and running speed. Bunts, steals, player statistics, sliders, change ups, curve balls, home runs, and lead-offs can all be found in this game. You can even take direct control of your fielders and runners!
