EA Sports' venerable baseball title returns with this release, the first for the PlayStation 2. As in previous versions, this edition of Triple Play Baseball is fully licensed by MLB and the MLBPA and features all of the sport's real-life teams and players, based on the 2000 rosters. This release also features an exclusive "MLBPA Big League Challenge" mode, based on the Las Vegas contest and featuring 12 MLB superstars in competitions and exhibitions of talent and skill. This PlayStation 2 version makes use of the console's higher processing power to provide superior graphics and smooth animation. The movements and even the mannerisms of several star players are recreated in their virtual counterparts.
