Plot

Brenan is still on the trail of his father Samson's legacy. Stopping in Hebron (where his father left the gates of Gaza ten years beforehand), he comes to the aid of a beautiful young woman named Saphira. Surrounded by the trappings of wealth, Saphira is taken aback (literally) when a slave trader sets his eye on her, but with Brenan close by, does she really have anything to worry about? And how will her captivity influence how she feels about the slaves that she herself keeps? But things truly start to go haywire when Saphira's mother enters the picture. Perhaps her name will ring a bell - they call her Delilah. What lesson will Brenan be able to learn from her that won't lead to the same fate that his father suffered? Recommended for ages 11 to 13.
