Plot

Central North Carolina hasn't seen much change in more than 50 years ... but suddenly people who have lived there for generations are leaving the sleepy towns and farms, while outsiders are moving in by the droves to this community now called "Kingdom Come". In just two years its population has grown from 2,000 to 10,000 - a 500% increase! Under mysterious leadership, local businesses are being bought out, huge warehouses are being built, and infrastructure projects are making the place virtually self-sustaining. When an enormous prison-regulation fence is eerected around the 200,000-acre settlement, alarms finally go off in Washington, D.C. FBI agent Ben Atkins, sent to investigate the situation, finds himself collaborating with word-weary reporter Dottie Betham as they strive to uncover the truth. Time is running out, though, as unexpected forces infiltrate the community. Is this a peaceful, God-fearing community - believers who are simply living out their faith? Is it a group of Americans headed for a dangerous confrontation with the government - a situation akin to Waco or Ruby Ridge? Or is Kingdom Come something more sinister?
