Plot

Mike Connolly, a divorced, alcoholic, fifty-something attorney finds that his life takes an unpredictable turn when he is appointed to defend an indigent man accused of murdering a prominent plaintiff's attorney. While defending his client, Connolly stumbles into a conspiracy and quickly finds himself in the midst of a complicated web of intrigue and deceit.The action builds to a dramatic and surprising conclusion as Connolly faces certain death and learns that sometimes even time and circumstance must yield to the purposes of God.
