Plot

Forbidden a novel Wilma Wall Amid the social pressures of post-World War II America, a tender, but forbidden, romance flourishes between a strict Mennonite and a Japanese-American.

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the romance of Annie Penner, a Mennonite, and Donald Nakamura, a Japanese-American, seems doomed to be ripped apart by war, prejudice, and clashing cultures.

When the war ends and Donald returns, he and Annie realize their love is stronger than ever. Despite the fact that their families, the community, and the laws of California are working against them, they struggle to continue believing that a God who works in mysterious ways will prevail for them. Realistic portrayal in a fascinating historical context.
