Plot

Workbook of stories and exercises for Language Development for persons for whom English is not a native Language and American customs and cultures are unfamiliar. Using the life of a fictional immigrant from Laos and his life in a Thai refugee camp, the book and exercises lead up to the resettlement in the USA. The themes are intended to stimulate discussion and allow students to express their opinions about issues. Exercises follow each story to develop reading skills such as predicting, making inferences, categorizing, and checking for comprehension.
